Our First Article Inspection service provides comprehensive dimensional verification of a manufactured component against its engineering drawing and specified requirements before proceeding with production.
Depending on the project requirements, inspection may include dimensional verification, CMM inspection, geometric tolerance evaluation, feature measurement, drawing characteristic verification, inspection result documentation, and review of applicable specifications.
FAI Pricing
First Article Inspection services are quoted individually based on the complexity of the part, number of drawing characteristics, tolerance requirements, inspection methods, CMM programming requirements, documentation requirements, and quantity of parts being evaluated.
Please submit your engineering drawing and applicable CAD files for review. Centurion Precision will evaluate the inspection requirements and provide pricing before beginning the inspection.
Required Documentation
Customers should provide the current engineering drawing and drawing revision along with any applicable CAD models, specifications, purchase-order requirements, inspection criteria, or customer-specific quality requirements.
Inspection & Reporting
Depending on the agreed scope of work, inspection results may include measured dimensional results, CMM-generated data, inspection reports, and other agreed-upon documentation.
Ballooned drawings, specialized inspection reports, customer-specific forms, or other documentation may be provided when included in the approved scope of work.
AS9102 & Specialized FAI Requirements
If AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation or another specific reporting standard is required, this must be identified when requesting the quote. Applicable documentation and reporting requirements will be reviewed and confirmed by Centurion Precision before work begins.
Parts & Delivery
Parts must be delivered or shipped to Centurion Precision unless other arrangements have been confirmed. Shipping, freight, special handling, packaging, and return transportation are not included unless specifically stated in the quotation.
